I am today calling on Minister Coveney to extend the slurry spreading season to the end of the month. The very wet summer has meant that farmers could not go in on marginal land. Now that we have had a few weeks of good weather a lot of farmers are only getting to go in on their lands now to spread slurry. An extension would be welcome and I will be contacting the Minister today to appeal for that extension to be granted.
