Carrick Jobs Very Welcome

By August 30, 2016No Comments

I want to warmly welcome the news that 200 jobs are to be created at the Vista Med plant in Carrick on Shannon over the next couple of years. The company already employs 300 people in the region and their commitment to this rural part of Ireland is admirable and the new jobs will provide a huge economic boost to the region. In the context of this announcement I would urge the Government under the auspices of Enterprise Ireland and the IDA to positively discriminate in favour of rural Ireland and the West in particular when sourcing suitable sites for companies who are willing to invest in Ireland and create employment . The experience of Vista Med shows that jobs can be created in rural areas and that a well educated and skillful workforce is readily available
