Dormant Account Funding Available

I am this week encouraging groups to seek Dormant Account Funding. Here are the guidelines and explanation of the terms and conditions:

Dormant Accounts Funds were originally established in 2001 and since then approximately €149m has been distributed on 3,000 projects countrywide. POBAL will administer the funding of €5.07m, that is now being made available (2015). Three Government Depts are also involved: Dept. of Social Protection, Dept of Health and Dept of Environment.
A call for applications was made on June 8th. All applications MUST be online. The online application is now and the deadline for receipt of applications is extended to 3pm on 29th July. Decisions on the applications will be made in November and Grant offers will be made in December(2015.
The funds will be distributed on eight measures with “Social Enterprise” receiving €1m and the other seven measures getting varying amounts. Under the “Social Enterprise” measure applicants must be able to show that they have traded income. It is important that all who may be interested should first go to the POBAL website and read the relevant factsheets and application guidelines. Then groups will be able to decide if they are eligible to apply. If you are an eligible group you will be able to register on the POBAL website in July.
In completing the Application form it is important that groups paint a full picture of their organisation and the scope of its activities and should relate their answers to the measure they wish to apply for and the factsheet criteria for that measure. Groups must have legal status and must be able to attach accounts. The minimum application is for €15,000.
The eight measures being covered under this scheme are:
1.Social Enterprise. 2.Youth Employment. 3.Support for Home carers. 4. Substance misuse. 5. Local Area co-ordination of Disability services. 6. Achieving HIQA standards. 6A:Capital grants for Childrens’ Residential centres. 6B: National Training Initiative for both Adults and Childrens’ Centres. 7.Support for Young people with disabilities. 8. Non-centre based Respite Services.
